The following topics will be explained by Isis (Methods):

1.GRAMMAR-TRANSLATION METHOD
2.GOUIN AND THE SERIES METHOD
3.THE DIRECT METHOD
4.THE AUDIOLINGUAL METHOD
5.COGNITIVE CODE LEARNING

The following topics will be explained by Karina (Approaches):

6.COMMUNITY LANGUAGE LEARNING
7.SUGGESTOPEDIA
8.THE SILENT WAY
9.TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE
10.THE NATURAL APPROACH

Important: Each presentation must cover the following criterion:

•Description of the method or approach (Historical background)
•Traits (Main characteristics)
•Usage (Explanation of its applicability)
•Example (Performance of the method or approach via a teaching technique (learning activity))


Important:
Each of you will have 60 minutes to present their methods.
It is important to remember that time must be respected in order to get significant results.

Good afternoon guys!!

Questions that need to be answered:

1. How do you compare and contrast a method from an approach?

2. Can the techniques used for the class development differ from the method that is established? 

3. Should teachers take into consideration the significance of having methodologies in accordance with their teaching philosophy?

Instructions: Students must post their original answer to each question as well as writing not less than two personal remarks to the answers stated by their peers.  

Don't forget that the expectations for personal remarks are:

1. Well structured
2. Respectful
3. Usage of proper language and technical terms
4. Longer than one sentence
5. Not a simple “I agree”, but show thinking process and content understanding

Important: The answers to the questions must be done before Wednesday, Sept. 13th, 2017 at 11:59 pm the latest, and the personal remarks must be done on Friday, Sept. 15th, 2017 at 11:59 the latest. Due dates and time must be respected for each student to have time to analyze the answers stated by their peers in order to have successful remarks.
